Through the Apostles

And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

                                                            Acts 2:43

               As the early church was filled with the Holy Spirit and fellowshipping with fellow believers they began to see many miracles being done by God through the apostles. God had now given the power of the Holy Spirit to the apostles and given them the ability to do miracles in His name. For the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and profess Him as our Savior. If I as Christian were to really grasp that and live it out I know I would be living a bolder and Christ centered life. Realizing that He has given me the power of the Holy Spirit and the power of Christ in me. I must just have faith that He can do a work through me. In Matthew 5:16 it says “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Just as the apostles were doing good works in the name of Jesus, the people were in awe and praised the Father. The works of the apostles brought glory to the Lord. That is why He gave them the power to do those things, so that people would see them and glorify His name. Not the names of the apostles, but the name of Jesus Christ. For because of Him and the power He gave them were they able to do these things in faith.

Application- pray for our class that we would have a better understanding of the power of the Holy Spirit God has given us.
